Pricing and explanation of services
Pricing is dictated by the amount of time that we estimate will be required in the following areas. A rate (usually hourly) is then applied and the total becomes the price we quote for your website and any additional services related to it.

Design
Graphic Design - This encompasses the overall presentation of the site, any logos or consistent graphical elements (button-bars etc.), and backgrounds.
Graphical Elements - creation, scaling and optimisation of graphics required for the site. This can include work on photographic materials and videos.
Standardisation/Optimisation - Graphical elements derived from a previous site may not be in suitable format, file size or palette.
Animation/Flash - Non-static graphical elements not involving any functionality.

Coding
PHP/CSS/HTML Standard - Basic programming of core website elements - including typesetting and layout. This may include implementation of basic functionality e.g. automatically sending e-mail.
JavaScript - Some functionality, which does not require the manipulation/storage of data, can best be implemented using JavaScript.

Application Development
Specific (including Flash) - Where a website requires a software implementation of a process not supported in a Bolt-On, an entirely custom application can be developed. Flash is a powerful graphical interface through which this can be achieved.
Bolt-On - Where a suitable Bolt-on exists to satisfy the website specification, a system will need to be developed whereby your website interfaces with that bolt-on.

Data Input
Generic - Paper to digital data conversion e.g. a product catalogue. This may include graphical elements NOT charged for in design.
Imported/Converted - where data exists or is provided in a digital format and requires importation and/or modification to be used with database systems that have been developed or provided.

Aftercare
Standard - This service provides next-day (maximum) modification for a specified period after launch. It is a best efforts service and can include help with using the system, provided online using a messenger-type system.
Advanced Launch - This service provides a programmer on hand (online and by telephone) constantly during an agreed period after launch.

Management
Where some elements of the site need to be changed at a code-level on a regular basis - and this is not a provided functionality of the site - a management contract based on a specified time period and estimated monthly workload can be entered into.

Bolt-ons
marketing-concepts.co.uk is dedicated to reusable code as a means of providing cost effective web solutions. Bolt-ons are functional modules designed to suit an individual task. They will require interfacing into the website and may require modification.

Testing
Sites with complex functionality will require a suitable amount of testing to ensure their ability to meet the specifications upon launch. Random testing involves the use of people not otherwise involved in the project to simulate a 'real' user - it can be all too easy to only use your site the way you made it!
